World Blood Donor Day Approaches 

Nexcare Bandages from 3M is partnering with America’s Blood Centers on “give,” an annual initiative focused on World Blood Donor Day, June 14th, to thank regular blood donors and encourage others to join the cause. The program takes place the week of World Blood Donor Day. Through this alliance, Nexcare Bandages provides resources to participating blood centers including a supply of limited-edition Nexcare give bandages for blood donors.  Visit Nexcare on Facebook for more information.

NHS Blood and Transplant Participates in AIM Pilot 

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) and America's Blood Centers recently issued a joint news release announcing that a trial is under way, which could give hospitals across England and North Wales the ability to track their use of blood to help improve patient outcomes. NHSBT will use America’s Blood Centers’ Appropriate Inventory Management (AIM) system at four English teaching hospitals in order to collect data about the clinical use of blood transfusions.
