Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center was honored to have Barbara Bush donate blood on Tuesday, January 21, 2003. Mrs. Bush made her donation to recognize National Volunteer Blood Donor Month, January 2003.
Every month, loyal donor Rodney "Packy" Mitchell visits the Northwest Florida Blood to donate platelets. But that's not all! He recently wrote a Letter to the Editor of his local newspaper, encouraging others to give the gift of life by donating blood.
Thank you to Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York City for taking time out of his busy schedule to donate blood at the New York Blood Center.
On April 15, 2002, platelet donor Donald Wallace of Schnecksville, PA, began his trek across the nation as part of the Southern Cross Bicycle Classic. Wallace is a regular platelet donor at Miller Memorial Blood Center in Bethlehem, PA. He took the opportunity to visit blood centers along the route.
