Dan A. Waxman, MD
Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer
Indiana Blood Center
Dr. Dan Waxman is the executive vice president and chief medical officer of the Indiana Blood Center in Indianapolis and is a clinical professor of pathology at the Indiana University Medical Center. Dr. Waxman received his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and his medical degree at the University of Kansas. After completing a pathology residency and a fellowship in transfusion medicine, Dr. Waxman held positions at the Community Blood Center in Kansas City, Mo., and Carter BloodCare in Bedford, Texas, and he was the chief executive officer of the Southeastern Michigan Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross in Detroit.
Dr. Waxman is a past president of the Kansas City Society of Pathologists, the Heart of America Association of Blood Banks, and the Indiana State Association of Blood Banks. Currently, Dr. Waxman serves as vice president of America's Blood Centers Board of Directors. He also serves as the chairman of the Scientific Section Coordinating Committee of the AABB Board.
